Boiler Testing:

Water quality analysis:

Monthly

For large boilers a monthly IANZ test is taken and sent to an ISO accredited independent laboratory.

All boilers are tested on site for TDS, pH, PO4, SO3 and softness and any adjustments required are advised to the engineer.

Closed Loop Testing:

Water quality analysis:

Monthly > Annually We recommend quarterly testing for all closed loop systems. A sample of water is collected and delivered to the base testing station and analysed for levels of inhibitor, pH, TDS and suspended solids. A visual test is also carried out for contaminants and/or corrosion and further testing carried out as required. A recommendation is then made for any dosing requirements and followed up with the customer.

Cooling Tower Testing:

Dipslide Testing:

Weekly A sample of the water from the cooling tower is taken and a dipslide stick is placed in the water for 10 seconds. The stick is then removed and replaced in the holding tube. The dipslide is delivered to the base testing station and incubated at 35oC for 48 hours. Thedisplide is then read by our technician and results are given in Colony Forming Units per millilitre (CFU/mL).

HPC Testing:

Monthly A sample of water is taken in a sterile container and placed in a cooler for delivery to the independent ISO accredited laboratory within 8 hours. The sample is processed and incubated for 48 hours. The result is read by the laboratory technician and then reported back to us on their microbiology report - Heterotrophic Plate Count. The count is again reported in CFU/mL.

Legionella Testing:

1-6 Monthly A sample is taken and handled as per the HPC testing. After processing, the sample is incubated for 10 days and a legionella test report is then sent to our office from the ISO accredited laboratory.

Other Water Quality Analysis:

Weekly / Monthly This includes TDS (total dissolved solids), pH and chemical levels. Chemicals tested for, can include corrosion inhibitor, chlorine and bromine. TDS, chlorine and bromine levels are tested on site for the most accurate analysis and quick response to any out of range readings. All other tests are returned to the base testing station to provide consistent and accurate readings.

Related Information Recorded From Site:

Weekly / Monthly To assist with full site analysis, other relevant readings are taken while on site. These may include supply and bleed water meters, dose tank levels, water temperature, etc. The cooling tower and surrounding area is also visually checked and any problems reported back to the client immediately.
